Parkour Summer Camp in North Bethesda: A Parent's Guide

Summer is long, and "I'm bored" arrives fast. Parkour camp at Bolt is built for exactly that stretch — a place where high-energy kids spend the day jumping, vaulting, problem-solving, and making friends instead of melting into a screen. If you're weighing a summer option in North Bethesda, here's everything a parent needs to know about how our camp works.

What a Day at Parkour Camp Looks Like

Every camp day mixes structured coaching with games and free play. Mornings usually start with a group warm-up, then coaches break campers into small groups to work on age-appropriate skills — safe landings, vaults, balance, and flow across our 7,200 sq ft of springy floors, bars, blocks, and air track. From there the day rolls into obstacle-course races, movement games, and supervised open time, with plenty of water and rest breaks. Each week wraps with a final obstacle challenge so campers can show off what they built.

The same things that make our classes work make camp work: an 8:1 camper-to-coach ratio, coaches who genuinely love the sport, and progressions that meet every kid where they are. (New to how we keep parkour safe? Here's our full take.)

Ages and Groups

Camp is built for kids ages 6 and up, grouped by age and experience so a first-timer and a seasoned mover each get the right level of challenge. No experience is required — campers arrive every week having never done parkour and leave with real skills and a week's worth of new friends. If your child is younger than 6, our preschool classes are the better starting point during the year.

Half-Day vs. Full-Day

We offer both half-day and full-day options each week. Half-day is a great fit for younger campers or families who want a lighter schedule; full-day suits older kids and parents who need full coverage, with a supervised lunch and rest block in the middle. You can mix and match by week to fit your summer.

What to Pack

  • Athletic clothes they can move in, and clean indoor sneakers — same as a regular class (see our first-class guide).
  • A labeled water bottle.
  • A snack, plus a packed lunch for full-day campers.
  • No special equipment — we provide all the mats and obstacles.

School's-Out and Holiday Camps

Beyond summer, we run School's Out camps on many MCPS closure days during the year — teacher workdays, long weekends, and breaks when school's closed but you're still working. They're a single-day version of the same formula: coaching, games, and free play that send kids home happily worn out.

How to Register

Weekly sessions run from mid-June through late August, and the most popular weeks fill first — so book the weeks you want as early as you can. You can see dates and reserve a spot on our camp page, or contact us if you're not sure which weeks or options fit your family.
